Willard, with a population of around 5,200 residents, is located just northwest of Springfield, Missouri. The area was first settled by European-Americans in 1857, and several homes and buildings from the 19th century still stand. Willard is noted for sending two athletes to the Olympics – Jason Pyrah (in 1996 and 2000) and Lori Endicott (in 1992).
