Republic High School6

Republic, MO | Greene County

Republic High School is by far the worst school I have attended in all of my years of education. The administrators are absolutely clueless about the lives of students and have no idea how to make a school function properly school. They don't support local events or attend school functions unless they are obligated and have no sort of relationship with students in any way. There is also a major drug problem at this high school and offenses are never taken as seriously as they should be. My review of this high school is due to the fact that this high school pales in comparison to high schools I have attended in other states and towns. I have attended two other high schools and a total of seven different schools in all. If you are moving to this region or deciding on which school to enroll in, I advise you to look elsewhere for s quality education and choose a different school system. This is just not the best fit for any type of student with any type of background.

As a graduate from Republic I would have to say that it was a great school. The athletic programs were great. Nearly all of the teachers I had were very good and prepared me for a successful four years in college. There is no reason a student can't be successful unless they put forth no effort whatsoever. Honestly for a child to fail at Republic, they have to try to fail. The teachers have no means of forcing the kids to do anything without a parent filing a law suit and the kids who failed are the ones who just refused to do their work. The teachers do not get paid enough money to deal with all the troubled kids that interfere with class on a daily basis. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Republic and would hate for my children to attend elsewhere. My only complaint with Republic is with the newest superintendent. He seems to be focused a little more on his career than the students. He prides himself on school being open when it snows and students get in car accidents and are injured nearly every snow day because of it. Also, the cooperative learning program is a joke. In no way does it prepare students for a career. It just wastes the time and slows the progress of students.

The administrator does not have a clue about what is going on. The Teachers do not care what the students are doing.

Please before you go bashing school districts about money and learning lets get the facts straight. I am a school administrator and parent outside the Republic School District. Schools are facing bleak educational funding cuts, the expectation for the 2010-2011 school year is that districts will have to educate students for $1,100,000 dollars less than they have in the past. Fortunately, Republic is a good steward of public funds and their reserve fund balance will help ease the burdens of the states inability to fund the public school funding formula. Republic is fortunate, their administration has been able to provide the community with beautiful, modern school buildings, state of the art programs and highly qualified teachers and principals that are highly educated and committed to student success. Parents have a responsibility to partner with schools to educate students.

This is a wonderful school to work in. Your students will feel safe and cared for in my class and others.

My son has been in the Republic school system since elementary school. He is now a sophomore and he's flunking reading and biology. The school system has failed. The school systems receive more money now than ever before and the students learn less. Oh we are getting a new High School and the sports teams are taken care of but if you ask me the teachers, administration at Republic are worthless. What about this late start Monday deal? I know it isnt for the students sake. The teachers do less, and get more money for doing it. The nations public school system is worthless, just another hole into which our government throws money. Then they want to blame the parents for our kids not learning, its BS to the enth degree. I think teachers need to be graded on students achievments, students fail, teachers and administration get fired.

Republic High School is a horrible school. There are very few teachers that care about Students. If your parents give the booster club money or if you are from what is perceived to be wealthy the sky is the limit.

Republic High School is the most Snobbish and clicky school I have every witnessed. We are new to Republic, the parents, student and staff treats our child as if they are criminal. There is no programs to help new kids adjust, no mentor no ambassador nothing !!!! The athletic program does not try to build new and improving athletics but try to discourage them from playing (kid that have come from the elementary school will be fine) If I had this move to do over I would not have moved to Republic !!!!!!!!!!!!!

Republic has an infamous history of favoring particular students and families in all regards including but not limited to: sports, academics. The student body tended to be clicky, somewhat snobby and un-accepting of new kids, new residents of Republic school district! The administration does not care that this goes on. There are no programs to help new students adjust. If your child is a good student and does not get in trouble you would not meet or get to know any of the four Principles. I do not think that the school is full of bad kids, just kid / parents and a staff that needs to be reminded what it feel like to be new!!!!!

Republic has the most wonderful teacher that put so much time and energy into making the student's learning experience a success. Parent's are given so many opportunities to become involved with activites which make it fun for them and their child, as they meet and develop relationships with other parents. Republic offers many extrcurricular activites that many smaller schools do not offer. Because of the growth of the Republic School District, a new high school will be built, which will provide the much needed space and even further opportunites for newer and improved learning experiences for students. As a parent of a younger student, I am looking forward to seeing her graduate from Republic and have the many opportunities I didn't have while attending a smaller school.

Republic has a pretty good school system, but I've noticed that because it's so small, they don't have the best teachers. They tend to spend more money on sports and less on the educational aspect of our learning. But in the past few years Republic has really grown, so I think it will get better in the next few years.
